MEMO is a space to recover and heal the sensory and emotional experiences of Alzheimer’s patients around the world, where people affected by the disease and their families are cared for and attended.
We designed MEMO under the basic global standards for health spaces and in a totally modular way in its architecture, interior design and furniture. It is therefore an adaptable model, depending on the conditions of the place and / or number of patients to be treated.
The project consists of nine spaces, each of them addressing the different stages of the disease, the different types of patients and the types of therapies that each one requires.
These spaces are: admissions room, psychology room, sensory room, cognitive room, memory room, emotions room, physical therapy room, palliative care room and medical staff room.
The spaces are united by the same warm language provided by the entry of natural light and the presence of plants in all spaces. The design of the organic volumes contributes to the warmth of the interiors.
The abundant use of wood and textiles in floors and furniture seek honesty in touch, firmness, creating spaces that shelter and that, with their warm colours, invite to be lived.
