From the very first visit to project PB08, the home spoke to us about limits.
The social areas were small, enclosed, and heavily compartmentalized. There was also a complete disconnect from a garden and a pool that deserved far more use and prominence.

Its owners —a couple with two young children— approached the renovation with a clear request: more light, openness, fresh air, and livability. The project soon became a true and inspiring California Dreaming.

We intervened in the home’s social spaces, tearing down walls to free up the floor plan and create a large social hub where the kitchen, dining room, and living room could coexist without boundaries, extending naturally toward the terrace and the pool. New floor-to-ceiling windows turned natural light into the main character, dissolving the barrier between indoors and outdoors and allowing the house to breathe in sync with the garden and the nearby Southeast Regional Park.

The interior atmosphere was built on a bright and airy foundation, accented with touches of color that evoke Californian vitality. Contemporary furniture, with nods to Nordic design, adds balance, modernity, warmth, and functionality. Every detail reinforces a feeling of naturalness, spaciousness, and open-air living.

Outside, we added a covered area with a support kitchen and a guest toilet, expanding the possibilities of the garden and turning it into the true heart and engine of daily life.

The result is a radical transformation: a home that leaves rigidity behind and opens itself to sunlight, connection, and enjoyment. A home that brings the essence of California to Madrid and turns its owners’ dream into a tangible reality.
